  • Auth Manager - How to offline authorize using Auth Manager

Depending on your license and workstation setup, you may be need an offline authorization. This allows Ipro to authorize the Auth Manager/Service application in an 'offline' mode where it does not reach out to the Ipro license server. This is useful in situations where you have an Ipro eDiscovery product installed on a computer/server that cannot access the internet (i.e. proxy, disconnected from network, etc.)

In this scenario, you can use these steps to perform the offline authorization.
    1. Go to the workstation with the Ipro Authorization Manager/Service installed.
    2. Open the Ipro Auth Manager (can be done through the Windows start menu).
    3. Once the Ipro Authorization Manager appears, you can click Authorization Management (in the upper left corner).
    4. Select DAT Management -> Export.
    5. Save the file with the exact filename that is assigned by the program.
    6. Once saved, send the .DAT file to CSR@Iprotech.com. The CSR team will be able to open the .DAT file to view the Client ID/Serial Number. They will then update the file to have the licenses assigned. CSR will send an email back with the updated .DAT file attached. Adding a subject line with your company name and contact info in the body is helpful for this process. Additionally, CSR may request that you re-send the email from the listed email address on file for authorization purposes.
    7. Download the updated .DAT file from your email, and transfer it to the Authorization workstation.
    8. In the Ipro Auth Manager, click Authorization Management (in the upper left corner).
    9. Select DAT Management -> Import. Select the updated .DAT file. Once successfully imported, you will see the licenses appear in the Software Module section.

    3. Attach the .DGL file to an email to CSR@Iprotech.com with your Dongle refill request. Ensure that you include your Company Name, amount of usage to be added, and a PO number if required.

    4. Once you have received the .DGL file back from our CSR department open the IproAuthManager.exe > File > Manage System Authorization > Import/Load Dongle Authorization File, as shown below.

    5. Browse to the .DGL file that was sent back and click Open, as shown below.
