How to Register a License & Refill a Dongle in eScan-IT

The following guide is intended to instruct users on the process of eScan-IT license registration and dongle refilling.

NOTE: This guide was made using eScan-IT version 3.2.5. Older versions may differ slightly.

Registering upon initial installation

1. After installing eScan-IT on a new system you will be asked to specify a System Directory, as shown below. If you will be using an existing System Directory (a license that has already been registered and is still valid) you must browse to that System Directory folder now. If you are using a new license/serial # for this installation you may place your System Directory wherever you choose.

NOTE: If multiple users/computers will be using this license they MUST have Read/Write/Modify permissions to the System Directory folder to use eScan-IT.



2. If you specify a folder that does not currently exist then eScan-IT can create it for you. Click ‘Yes’, as shown below.



3. If you pointed to (or created) a System Directory that does NOT have a registered authorization file you will be prompted for your serial #, as shown below. Enter your serial # and press ‘OK’.




4. You may now register your eScan-IT license. Call in using the phone # provided and select the option for“Product Authorization”. You will be asked to provide your Serial Number and the Serial Key which appear in the ‘Telephone Registration’ screen shown below.

The IPRO representative will provide you with the ‘Registration Value’. Once entered you may click the ‘Install Registration Value’ button.

**NOTE**: Only Subscription Serial Numbers require Telephone Registration. Click-Based (Dongled) Serial Numbers will not be prompted for Telephone Registration.





Register or Update a Serial Number in an existing installation of eScan-IT

1. Open eScan-IT and click the ‘Admin’ button on the top toolbar, as shown below.



2. To register the existing serial # select ‘Telephone Authorize Software License’. You will be provided with a screen as shown below. Call in using the phone # provided and select the option for “Product Authorization”. You will be asked to provide your Serial Number and the Serial Key which appear in the ‘Telephone Registration’ screen shown below.


The IPRO representative will provide you with the‘Registration Value’ to enter. Once entered click the‘Install Registration Value’button.



3. If you have been given a new serial # select ‘Update Registration Serial Number’ from Step 1. You may then enter your new serial # into the screen as shown below.




How to Refill or Authorize an eScan-IT Dongle

1. Open eScan-IT and click the ‘Admin’ button from the toolbar and select ‘Authorize Dongle’ as shown below.



2. The ‘Telephone Authorize IPROTech Dongle’ utility will open. Select File > Telephone Authorize Dongleas shown below.



3. You will be provided with the IPRO Support phone # to call. Please call in and click ‘OK’ as shown below.



4. The IPRO representative will ask for your serial # and remaining dongle clicks. This information is presented as shown below.



5. Once you have given the IPRO representative the serial # and remaining clicks you may click the ‘Proceed’button. The next screen, shown below, will supply an ‘Authorization Value’. The IPRO representative will ask for this value.


Once the IPRO representative says that they have the‘Registration Code’for you, click the‘OK’button to proceed.



6. Enter the ‘Registration Code’ supplied by the IPRO representative and click ‘OK’ as shown below.



7. After clicking ‘OK’ from the screen above you should be provided with a “Successful Dongle Update”message as shown below. If unsuccessful the process may need to be restarted. This may occur if one of the values was entered incorrectly.
