How to create a default Outlook mail profile for eCapture and eScan-IT
Applies to: eCapture, eScan-IT
Version: All

The eScan-IT and eCapture software packages utilize Microsoft Outlook when processing Outlook-related files during an Electronic Data Discovery (EDD) session (such as .PST and .MSG). For an EDD session to process these types of files successfully a default Outlook profile must be configured. The Outlook profile may also need to be recreated for troubleshooting or maintenance purposes.
Although any mail profile can be used for this purpose, Ipro does not recommend using an active mail account for this profile, or to have any active mail accounts on the workstation or server used for EDD operations.

The following changes require administrator access to the workstation or server.

Depending on the operating system, the steps below may vary. For assistance with a specific operating system, see Microsoft Technet.
Mail profiles should only be deleted on workstations or servers that are not actively being used for any other purposes. Deleting the default mail profile on a user's workstation will delete their e-mail account from the local system.
